Land Drainage

Authority responsible for approving property drainage systems within the city limits of Erlangen.

The Property Drainage Division of the Building Inspection Office is responsible, in accordance with the Drainage Ordinance (EWS), for

  • issuing drainage permits for new construction and renovations
  • Approval of temporary wastewater discharges / construction site drainage
  • Leak tests in the Erlangen-West water protection area
  • Consulting on the rehabilitation of connection sewers and underground pipes
  • Advice on drainage-related issues / backflow problems
