Classified information; municipal affairs

Classified information is facts, objects or findings that require secrecy in the public interest, regardless of their form of presentation. They are classified according to their need for protection by an official body or at its instigation.

The district administrative authorities are responsible for the proper handling of classified information (production, marking, duplication, storage and management, disclosure, archiving and destruction as well as other uses) within their area of responsibility. They take measures to ensure that information that must be kept secret in the public interest is protected from unauthorized access.

Classified information is classified differently depending on the extent of the potential damage that could be caused by the unauthorized use of this information. There are four levels of classification; "top secret" is the highest level of classification.
