If you are looking for or starting a new job or apprenticeship, you can, for example, have your expenses for application documents or travel to a job interview reimbursed by your Jobcenter.

Funding from the placement budget is intended to help you find and take up a new job or company-based or school-based training. The Jobcenter can provide you with financial support, for example by covering the costs of your
- job applications,
- travel or trips to job interviews,
- necessary documents (e.g. certified copies, translations) or
- relocation costs (if you have to move for the new job).

Your integration specialist will check and decide which costs can be covered at your request / application before the expected costs are incurred.
You can receive the funding if you receive basic security benefits in accordance with SGB II and are either aiming for one of the above-mentioned options or to take up school-based training.
You can also receive the grant if you are seeking or starting employment subject to compulsory insurance in a member state of the European Union (EU), a signatory state to the Agreement on the European Economic Area or in Switzerland. The prerequisite is that you work at least 15 hours per week.
You cannot receive support from the placement budget if
- the employer provides similar benefits,
- other public bodies are legally obliged to pay similar benefits or
- applications are not sent out by yourself.
Please note that you have no legal entitlement to funding from the placement budget. Your Jobcenter will decide whether and to what extent you receive financial support. You must also provide proof of your expenses.
- You are at risk of unemployment or unemployed and want to take up employment subject to compulsory insurance.
- You are looking for in-company or school-based training.
- You must apply for support from the placement budget before the costs are incurred.
You can apply for funding from the placement budget at the job center responsible for you.
- Arrange a consultation appointment with your integration specialist at the job center.
- They will then discuss with you whether funding from the placement budget is possible and what support services can be offered.
- You will receive the relevant application documents from your integration specialist.
- Complete the documents, enclose the necessary evidence or supporting documents and send the documents back to the job center.
- Please note that you must apply for funding and reimbursement from the placement budget before you incur any costs.
- You will receive a written decision as to whether the costs will be covered. You can tick the box on the application form if you do not wish to receive a decision, as long as your application is granted in full.
- The eligible costs will be transferred to the account you have specified.
If you have a corresponding user account, you can also submit the application online via the Federal Employment Agency's online platform "eService".
