School District Office; Information on Matters Related to Legal Administration

The school board is jointly headed by the district administrator or the mayor (= legal head) and a school inspector for elementary and middle schools (= technical head). The responsibilities of the district administrator and the mayor include matters that are primarily of a legal nature.

Matters of a predominantly legal nature are all matters whose primary purpose in their resolution is the establishment or determination of legal relationships; these include, in particular, appeals proceedings, administrative enforcement and administrative offense proceedings, and the enforcement of safety and health regulations.
