Anyone who does not hold fishing rights or a fishing lease for a body of water must have a valid permit in addition to a fishing license. The permit is issued by the holder of the fishing rights or, with that person’s consent, by the fishing leaseholder.

You can use this online service to apply for a fishing permit.
Convenient and digital: Simply fill out this online application directly in your web browser. In many cases, this saves you a trip to the government office.
Fishing is not permitted without a fishing permit. Exceptions apply to assistants who fish without a handline while accompanied by an authorized person. In addition, no more than three people may fish without a permit while accompanied by an authorized person. The controlled issuance of fishing permits is intended to prevent excessive use of the water body. The number of anglers is adjusted to the water body’s carrying capacity and the statutory conservation objectives.
The permit is valid only for the holder named on it.
Permits may be issued for a maximum of three years. Common types include daily, monthly, and annual permits. The district administrative authority also grants authorization to issue permits for a limited period.

A fishing permit may only be issued by a person who, as a fishing rights holder or leaseholder, has full fishing rights. The leaseholder must also obtain the express consent of the lessor.
The issuance of fishing permits must be approved by the competent district administrative authority. The application must specify, in particular, the location and type of fishing waters, the type and scope of the fishing rights, and the type and validity period of the permits being requested. The district administrative authority with local jurisdiction is the one in whose district the fishing waters in question are located.
