The responsible district administrative authority can provide you with information on so-called suspected contaminated sites or contaminated sites. These are areas that may pose a risk to people or the environment due to harmful soil changes as defined by the Federal Soil Protection Act.
Areas suspected of being contaminated can be, for example, former waste disposal sites (old landfills) and land formerly used for industrial or commercial purposes (old sites) where environmentally hazardous substances have been handled.
Initial information on suspected contaminated sites and contaminated sites can be obtained online via public access using the online procedure "ABuDIS - Contaminated Sites, Soil Protection and Data Information System".
The Bavarian State Office for the Environment (LfU) carries out the cadastral registration of certain harmful soil changes and suspected contaminated sites. For detailed information on contaminated sites, please contact the district administrative authority responsible for you.
Regional Supplement (Editorial responsibility: City of Erlangen)The city of Erlangen keeps a register of contaminated sites in which areas with known underground contamination and areas suspected of having such contamination are recorded. These include, for example: Industrial sites, businesses where water-polluting substances have been handled, vehicle workshops, petrol stations, dry cleaners, old landfills, old deposits and others.
The disclosure of the information must not conflict with any legally protected interests of others.
If you are not the owner of the property for which you are requesting information from the register of contaminated sites, you must enclose a power of attorney from the property owner with the request.
The application for information from the register of contaminated sites can be made informally. It must include the postal address and details of the district, parcel and plot, as well as the required documents.
