Municipal vacation offers; information and registration

Looking after their children during the school vacations is often a problem for working parents. Many municipalities have recognized the need for childcare and offer a variety of programs during the vacations.

You usually have to register your children for a vacation event or make a reservation.

Hooray, vacations at last!

Schoolchildren often long for the vacations during the busy school weeks. However, working parents of schoolchildren face a particular challenge. The school vacations last 13 weeks a year, far exceeding parents' own vacation time. It is very reassuring to know that Erlangen offers a wide range of vacation childcare for all vacation periods as well as exciting vacation programs.

Vacation care

The vacation childcare programs offer all-day care for children. The vacation care offers can be booked on a weekly basis. In Erlangen, there are vacation care offers in all vacation periods.

Every year, the Erlangen Alliance for Families puts together the"Erlangen Holiday Care for Schoolchildren". It offers a wide range of vacation care options with very different focuses, so that every child can find a suitable offer. Ten different vacation care providers are currently on board. From sports to artistic design, environmental education and lots of fun, games and exercise outdoors or indoors, children are offered plenty of variety and enjoyment while meeting other children.
The activities are spread throughout the city in order to provide care close to home. Registration is decentralized and takes place at the respective provider.

Discounts are offered, for example for the Erlangen Pass, to enable children from low-income families to enjoy variety and play with other children during the vacations.

Vacation programs

Vacation programs also provide variety during the vacations. There are a variety of courses, workshops and excursions for children that can be booked individually. The Children's Culture Office puts on a colorful and varied vacation program during the Easter and summer vacations. Creative activities, sporting activities, sightseeing, nature experiences - there is something for all interests! So there's never a dull moment during the vacations!
