Switch to reusable diapers!

Each baby needs around 4000 to 5000 diapers during the changing phase. Diapered with disposable diapers, this results in more than 1 ton of diaper waste per child. Apart from the enormous amount of waste, the production of disposable diapers has a heavy impact on the environment.

Why reusable diapers?

Modern cloth diapers are just as easy to use as disposable diapers. A lower volume of residual waste can also save on waste charges.

Our support program

The city of Erlangen subsidizes the purchase of new and used cloth nappy systems (overpants, cloth diapers, washable inserts, diaper fleeces) once with 25 percent of the invoice amount, ErlangenPass holders receive 50 percent. The maximum subsidy is 200 euros per child.

• Parents with children who have their main residence in the city of Erlangen
• The residential property is connected to the municipal waste disposal system
• The invoice must clearly state that the purchase is for reusable diapers. The invoice and proof of payment must be submitted
• The child is not yet one year old at the time of application

Please note that only purchases made after the funding program came into effect (i.e. after July 15, 2021) can be considered.
