Do you want to actively shape both your personal future and the future of the city of Erlangen?

Do you have a knack for working with technical components? Do you have a talent for grasping technical contexts and are you a skilled craftsman? Do you want to see what you have achieved at the end of the day? Are you interested in operating machines and have perhaps already gained some experience in this field? Then training as an industrial mechanic could be just the thing for you!

The industrial mechanic is a mono-occupation, which means that you do not specialize in a particular field. All trainees therefore receive the same basic training and can later be employed in any specialist area. In the drainage company of the city of Erlangen, you will perform important public tasks and work actively for the citizens in environmental protection.

You will also take care of repair and maintenance work on operating equipment and technical systems and select test equipment, determine the causes of faults, replace defective components or wearing parts, check bearings or tighten screws, for example. In some cases, you will manufacture any necessary spare parts yourself.

During your training, you will also be introduced to various other areas, such as pneumatics, hydraulics, basic electrical engineering, quality management and the documentation of your work processes. You will gain an insight into welding (including plastic welding PE) and soldering as well as cutting and machining materials. You will support your colleagues in planning and organizing work processes, taking into account occupational safety, health protection and compliance with the necessary environmental protection measures.

You will gain a comprehensive insight into all areas of the profession during your training and will find that your tasks are very diverse and varied both during and after your training. As a trained specialist, you can also expect various in-depth training courses that will further qualify you for your work as an industrial mechanic. These include, for example, fastening technician and crane operator. Further specific training on certain systems and machines as well as the safety rules for handling hazardous substances round off your training.

An attractive, challenging and varied profession awaits you. - For me. For us. For Erlangen.
