The emergency folder
Stand: 16.01.2026
Among other things, it offers numerous forms and checklists and is useful for older and younger people.
In the event of a medical or personal emergency, a lot of important information and documents are often needed. To ensure that these can be found quickly and are readily available, the Department for Ageing and Generational Issues has been offering an emergency folder since 2018. This was completely revised in 2025 and expanded to include numerous forms and checklists.
Help for those affected and relatives
The emergency folder is not only intended to help those directly affected. It is also intended to help relatives keep track of what needs to be organized in the event of illness, care or bereavement.
There is enough space in the folder for
- personal data
- important contacts
- medical information
- precautionary documents
- financial information
- insurance policies
- Pension
- contracts
- Memberships and
- digital estate.
An index clearly divides all documents into the various subject areas. The folder is not only useful for older people. Young people can also use it to make early provision for emergencies.
The emergency folder is available for a nominal fee of five euros from the Department for Ageing and Generational Issues.
