Why dispose of it in residual waste?

Instead of toilet paper, substitute products such as wet wipes or kitchen towels often end up in the toilet with disastrous consequences. Wet wipes and kitchen towels are extremely tear-resistant. They lead to blockages in drains and sewage pumps. As a result, employees often have to clear the blockages from the systems in an emergency service. This incurs costs that have to be borne by the fee payers.

Damp and kitchen towels also cause problems in private underground pipes. They cling to solidified deposits. In doing so, they form plugs that can lead to a backflow.

Correct disposal

Wet wipes and kitchen towels belong in the bin and not in the toilet.
