Municipal integrative house for children Stintzing 1
Stand: 05.02.2025
The facility is run under the HAUS FÜR KINDER Stintzing1 concept with two play groups and two study groups.
Age of children in care: 2.5 years to the end of primary school
Responsible body: Erlangen City Youth Welfare Office
The integrative HAUS FÜR KINDER Stintzing1 is located in Jaminpark/Rathenau at Stintzingstraße 1 on the entire first floor of a newly built four-storey residential building by the property developer Dawonia.
The Sprengelschulte is the Friedrich-Rückert elementary school on Ohmplatz. We also look after children from the Michael Poeschke elementary school and the Otfried Preußler elementary school in Liegnitzer Straße.
HAUS FÜR KINDER Stintzing1 looks after children from the age of 2 ½ until the end of their primary school years. This enables the children and families to build and maintain consistent, long-term relationships. The children's house concept is practiced by the educational staff. They support and help each other in the groups. Transitions are made smoothly so that, for example, the playroom children come into contact with the rooms of the learning room or with the learning room staff from time to time and vice versa. The transition from the playroom to the learning room is consciously designed.
The group rooms in the learning and play rooms each consist of a group room and two adjoining rooms. Each group also has a play corridor. There is a movement room in both the learning room and playroom areas. A workshop in the learning room area can be used by all children at the facility. A therapy room/snooze room is preferably used for specialist service lessons. Each group room also has a group kitchen. Meals are prepared for all children in a central kitchen by our lunchtime cook. Outside, there is a fenced-in area for the playroom children, which is also used by the learning room children, and a public area for the age of the learning room children.
Basic attitude and orientation
Our educational work is characterized by an appreciative, resource-oriented and participatory attitude. Each child is perceived as an independent personality with individual needs, abilities and potential. Our aim is to create a loving, safe and stimulating environment that offers affection, attention and protection.
Educational role
As professionals, we see ourselves as companions, supporters and role models. Our task is to give the children guidance and security without restricting their independence. We create space for exploration, participation and growth, but also set clear boundaries and provide a stable structure through consistent action.
Guiding principles of our work
Affection and attention
Through attentive listening, loving interactions and individual attention, we promote the children's trust in their environment and themselves.
Consistency
Clear rules and structures give the children security and orientation. For us, consistency means reliability and authenticity in our actions.
Participation
Children are actively involved in decisions that affect them. In this way, we strengthen their personal responsibility, promote social skills and contribute to a democratic attitude.
Protection mandate
The physical, mental and emotional integrity of every child is our top priority. We take responsibility for recognizing risks at an early stage and taking preventative action.
Transitions in the educational process
We accompany transitions, such as starting daycare, moving to school or changes within the family environment, sensitively and individually. The aim is to offer children and their families security and support during transitional phases.
Cooperative design and support
We work closely with parents, guardians and other specialist agencies to ensure that children receive holistic support. The exchange takes place at eye level and with mutual respect.
Pedagogy of diversity
We see diversity as an enrichment. We see differences in origin, language, culture, abilities and family forms as an opportunity to promote respectful coexistence and prepare children for an inclusive society.
Strengthening skills and areas of education
Our educational work aims to strengthen the children in their personal, social, cognitive and emotional development. As part of the educational areas, we specifically promote
- Language and communication skills
- Motor skills and health awareness
- Cognitive and mathematical skills
- Musical and creative skills
- Social skills, empathy and the ability to deal with conflict
- Awareness of nature and the environment
Networked environment
Our work does not take place in isolation, but is embedded in a network of social, cultural and institutional partners. Through cooperation with schools, advice centers, specialist services and cultural institutions, we create a lively and networked learning environment.
