Fall time is foliage time

Especially now, when leaves are wet, it is necessary for property owners to fulfill their safety obligations. The street cleaning service therefore reminds you of the obligation to clean public footpaths. It applies to the adjacent house and property owners.

Where must be cleaned?

If there is no separately demarcated sidewalk, a strip 1.5 meters wide should be cleaned along the property. This should be done as required. Especially in the fall, this is necessary more often than once a week. It doesn't matter whether the leaves come from your own tree or your neighbor's. Only in the city center are the sidewalks also cleaned by the municipal street cleaning service.

Where is the obligation regulated?

The street cleaning ordinance regulates the cleaning obligations and responsibilities on public roads, paths and squares. When cleaning roadways, it must first be clarified whether the road is located in the municipal street cleaning service area. For all other roads, the adjacent property owners are responsible. The cleaning area is defined along the shared property boundary up to the middle of the roadway.

Leaves without foreign matter can be disposed of in the organic waste garbage can. Larger quantities must be taken directly to the Frauenaurach composting plant. The following also applies here: Leaves must be free of any non-putrescible foreign matter.
