Road renovations 2025
Stand: 13.08.2024
The road surface in Gebbertstraße, Äußere Tennenloher Straße and Möhrendorfer Straße will be renewed, among other things. The infrastructure for bus and cycle traffic is also being improved.
At the city council meeting at the end of July, the road surface renewal program for the coming year was approved. The civil engineering department's list includes seven individual measures. The investment volume amounts to around 1.8 million euros.
Which roads will be renovated?
Repairs are planned for the following roads in the coming year:
- Gebbertstraße (between Henke- and Anton-Bruckner-Straße)
- Theodor-von-Zahn-Straße (between Gebbertstraße and Schellingstraße)
- Streets Thalermühle, Gerberei, Parkplatz- und Münchener Straße - depending on the demolition and replacement of the parking garage and the renewal of the water pipes
- Äußere Tennenloher Straße (between Wladimirstraße and the railroad bridge)
- Pestalozziring (between Wienstraße and the western branch road)
- Pfarrstraße
- Möhrendorfer Straße.
How will the repairs be carried out?
In the past, road surface renewal has proven to be a resource-saving and economical maintenance method: It is carried out by milling off the worn pavement and laying a new asphalt surface course. In addition, in the course of these complete road closures, it was also possible to partially renew sidewalks, drainage facilities and more, taking advantage of existing synergy effects.
What improvements have been made to the infrastructure for bus and cycle traffic?
- As part of the road resurfacing work, a crossing aid will be installed in Gebbert-/Hoffmannstraße. This is an important part of the planned conversion of Hofmannstraße into a cycle lane.
- The bicycle infrastructure is to be improved in the northern section of Gebbertstrasse.
- In 2025, the focus will also be on the barrier-free expansion of bus stops as part of the road surface renewal: on Pestalozziring (Weinstraße stop) and in Tennenloher Straße (Kanalstraße stop).
How will the measures be implemented?
Implementation in the coming year is subject to final coordination with the relevant partners.
- the relevant partners
- the municipal drainage company
- the Office for Urban Planning and Mobility
- the Erlangen municipal utilities
with regard to medium-term conversion plans and feasibility in coordination with third-party construction measures.
