Stand: 13.06.2025

The forest paths have been reopened after the fire. Nevertheless, the high risk of forest fires remains. Follow the rules for visiting the forest.

The forest paths that were closed in the course of the forest fire in Tennenloher Forst have been reopened. This was announced today by the Erlangen-Höchstadt District Office. However, due to the renewed high risk of forest fires, the district office is urging people to enter the forest with particular caution and consideration. The ban on entering certain areas, which has been in place since April 1, 2014, remains in force.

How to behave correctly when visiting the forest

  • The smoking ban in force from the beginning of March to the end of October must be strictly observed, please exercise caution
  • As a general rule, do not light any fires (including barbecues) in or near the forest
  • Do not throw burning cigarettes out of the car
  • Cars, motorcycles and agricultural vehicles may not be parked on meadows and forest paths.
  • The Erlangen-Höchstadt District Office appeals to all forest visitors to report forest fires immediately by calling the emergency number 112.

The forest fire broke out on April 30 near the wild horse enclosure.

A fireman stands in the forest and puts out a fire.
