The Ordinance on the Prevention of Fires (VVB) on the legal basis of the State Criminal and Ordinance Act (LStVG) contains design and behavioral regulations with the aim of
- to designate fire-hazardous actions and conditions as such
- enforce their omission through the threat of a fine
- to provide material inspection regulations for carrying out municipal fire inspections in accordance with the Ordinance on Fire Inspections (FBV).
It contains specifications for the following areas, among others:
- Extinguishing fires
- Operation of fireplaces
- Outdoor fires
- Fuel residues
- Matches, small appliances, naked flames, lighting equipment
- Smoking, smoking ban
- Electrical appliances
- Internal combustion engines
- Flammable tools
- Solid fuels
- Storage of highly flammable solids in buildings
- Outdoor storage of flammable solids
- Outdoor storage of highly flammable crops
- Storage of spontaneously combustible crops
- Other spontaneously flammable substances
- Balloons
- Decorating rooms
- Street festivals, markets and events
- Unfinished roof spaces, hatches, chimneys
