Food monitoring checks
- in food retail and wholesale, primarily the labeling of goods, i.e. the presence, legibility and correct wording of the most important labeling information (e.g. the name, the best-before date, the list of ingredients); in addition, compliance with the prescribed cooling temperatures and hygienic conditions are checked and samples are taken;
- in the case of restaurants, for example, the proper storage of food, the best-before date and the other quality of the food available and compliance with general hygiene regulations.
During the inspections, the food inspectors also provide information and advice in the interests of preventive consumer protection.
