Garden culture and landscape conservation; advice on the design and maintenance of gardens and outdoor facilities

The district advisory services for garden culture and landscape conservation promote garden culture through advice, lectures, instruction, seminars and educational trips (environmentally friendly garden design and maintenance, environmental protection in the garden and home, vegetables, flowers, fruit, etc.). The aim is to create a nature-friendly and exciting living environment through the appropriate use of plants, among other things. Priority is given to maintaining healthy soil and water through proper fertilization and integrated plant protection in compliance with the Plant Protection Act.

Cooperation with all relevant organizations such as horticultural, settlers' and allotment garden associations, farmers' associations, housewives' associations and nature conservation associations serves to promote garden culture and landscape conservation. It regularly organizes competitions and events such as

• "Our village has a future" or
• the "Open Garden Day" are held regularly.

The municipalities in the district receive technical support in matters of landscape and green space planning as well as in the design and maintenance of public green spaces.
