In specific individual cases, exceptions may be granted to avoid undue hardship. The driver’s license authorities within the district administrative offices are responsible for granting exceptions related to driver’s licenses.

The driver's license authorities in the district offices and independent cities are also responsible for granting exemptions from the Driver's License Regulation (FeV).
An exemption may be granted only if there are exceptional circumstances that would result in undue hardship in a specific case.

You can handle driver’s license matters at the Citizen Services office—either online or in person on the ground floor of City Hall. For example, you can apply for all standard driver’s licenses or exchange your old driver’s license, etc.
