Informationen
The competent authority may delegate the taking of samples for testing for Trichinella in the case of wild boar or badgers to a hunter who hunts game for the purpose of using it as food for his own domestic consumption or who supplies small quantities of hunted game or meat from hunted game to final consumers or local retailers for direct supply to final consumers. The transfer may relate to the place of killing (competent authority in which the hunting district is located) and/or to the hunter's place of residence.
The persons concerned must hold an annual hunting license.
They must have been trained by the competent authority to carry out this activity or provide proof of successful participation in a training course by means of a certificate from another competent authority.
There must be no facts that justify the assumption that the hunter does not possess the necessary reliability for this activity.
The transfer of the collection of samples for testing for Trichinella must be applied for informally at the responsible district administrative authority.
Several persons can be commissioned per hunting ground. One person can also be commissioned by different authorities. The group of people who can be commissioned if the requirements are met is not limited to those authorized to hunt, but includes all holders of a valid annual hunting license.
If sampling is delegated to a hunter, the competent authority shall determine to which Trichinella testing center(s) the Trichinella samples are to be sent for testing.
The service of Trichinella sampling and examination by the responsible official veterinarian remains unchanged and can of course be used by the persons authorized to dispose of the carcasses (hunters).
- Required documents, Bavaria-wide. The following documents are required:
- Valid hunting license
- Confirmation of participation in the training course "Taking Trichinella samples from wild boar and badgers"
