Ukraine crisis; self-reporting by refugees

The European Union has decided to open the admission procedure for war refugees from Ukraine in accordance with the EU Directive on Temporary Protection. This means that an unbureaucratic procedure for the admission of war refugees from Ukraine is now possible in Germany.

Please contact the nearest registration office. These are

• all district administrative authorities (district administration offices and independent cities);
• the ANKER facilities in Manching, Deggendorf, Regensburg, Bamberg, Zirndorf and Schweinfurt;
• the administrative center in Augsburg;
• the arrival center in Munich.

You will be registered there and asked whether you need accommodation.

If you need accommodation, you will be allocated a place in accommodation.

If you have already found accommodation, you can continue your journey there or return after registration.

Displaced persons from Ukraine do not have to undergo an asylum procedure; an application for asylum is not required. Ukrainian nationals can be admitted on the basis of the so-called Directive on Temporary Protection in all EU Member States for the Reception of War Refugees. The right to apply for asylum continues to exist regardless of this.
