From the 2026/2027 school year, the legal entitlement for primary school children will come into force, initially for year 1. This will be successively extended to the other grades in the following years. The legal entitlement is intended to guarantee all-day education and childcare for schoolchildren. As a result, the city of Erlangen is obliged to consider how youth welfare services and schools can ensure the legal entitlement, to take appropriate measures and, in particular, to make elementary school "structurally fit" for this.

Erlangen is getting a new cultural center, the Kultur- und Bildungscampus Frankenhof (kubic). The music school, the adult education center, the youth art school, the German-French Institute with a day care center, a guest house, a bistro, event halls and club rooms will all find a home here in the future.

On the west bank of the Dechsendorfer Weiher, an attractive, contemporary and safe play and recreation area for children and families is being created on an area of around 400 square meters

New construction of an inclusive daycare center for 60 kindergarten and 24 crèche places at Brucker Bahnhof.

The playground on Habichtstraße in Alterlangen is to be completely renovated and redesigned. New play equipment and a landscaping redesign are intended to make it an attractive place for children and families to play and spend time.
