The cycling season is about to start again. It is therefore fitting that the 1,000 bike racks program approved by the city council is also making good progress. With the help of the city's population, over 250 locations in the city center were identified where citizens would like to see bicycle parking facilities.

379 of these modern metal racks for leaning bicycles have already been completed
- 327 are currently being implemented
- 83 racks are planned.
Only 211 remain to reach the target of 1,000 new racks.
"The expansion of attractive and secure parking facilities for cyclists is an important element in promoting cycling in Erlangen. Parking facilities help to make cycling more attractive, because those who know their bike is easily accessible and safely parked also prefer to use it." (Planning officer Harald Lang)
