- The City of Erlangen has purchased for 20 years the occupancy rights of a total of 598 freely financed apartments from the stock of GEWOBAU mbH of the City of Erlangen, which are not included in the total of social housing. In the contract agreement, the city specified a rent per square meter for Gewobau that is roughly oriented to the level of social housing. Although these "occupancy rights apartments" are also awarded exclusively with Wohnberechtigungsschein, these apartments are NOT social housing, because they are no longer subject to the social rent control under the Housing Promotion Act.
- In some cases, "Verfügungswohnungen" to avoid homelessness are social housing, but they are not included in the designated stock, because they are not available for general disposal.
