City Transit Shortens Customer Service Hours

Erlangen Public Transportation is temporarily changing its hours of operation in August. The reason for this is the Bavarian summer vacation and the resulting, historically lower passenger demand. The customer service office at Goethestraße 21a will be staffed continuously from Monday, August 3, through Friday, August 28, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Phone support will be available during this period:

  • Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
  • Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Customers can reach Erlanger Stadtverkehr by calling (09131) 823-4000. Regular business hours will resume on August 31.

Improving Transportation Infrastructure

About 120,000 people live in our city. In addition, there are several thousand commuters who travel to Erlangen for work every day. They’re all on the move every day—on their way to work, to the university, to the stores, to the theater, or to school. To ensure everyone reaches their destination safely, we’re improving and upgrading the road network. This also applies to sidewalks and bike paths. However, other entities—such as Deutsche Bahn, the Northern Bavaria Highway Authority, or various utility providers—also carry out construction work. Road or bike path closures are therefore, unfortunately, unavoidable. This also affects buses, which must then take alternate routes.

Events

Erlangen offers many opportunities for leisure activities. This is great for the people in our city, but also for all visitors. Sometimes, however, a festival makes it necessary to close off streets. Free public transportation in the city center
