City center living room: high-quality and proper design
Stand: 28.05.2024
More flexibility for special uses for an attractive city center. New guideline gives restaurateurs and retailers clear, flexible design options.
In April, the city council approved the revised design guidelines for special uses in the city center. If restaurateurs and tradespeople wish to use the public space for outdoor seating or merchandise displays, for example, this is a special use. This is generally subject to approval. The aim of the design guidelines is to ensure a high-quality cityscape. With the new version that has now been adopted, the city is allowing a greater degree of design flexibility without compromising the quality of the historic cityscape. This gives restaurateurs and tradespeople more opportunities to try out new things within a clearly defined framework.
