You need a cab permit if you want to transport people commercially by cab.

Anyone who wants to transport goods commercially in Germany with motor vehicles over 3.5 tons needs a permit. For cross-border transport, a so-called community license is required for motor vehicles over 2.5 tons.

You need a permit if you want to offer excursions or vacation destination trips with passenger cars.

Municipalities may charge for parking on public roads and squares by means of parking meters, parking ticket machines or payment systems (e.g. cell phone parking).

Construction sites that may have an impact on road traffic must be specially secured and signposted. The contractors responsible for the construction site must contact the road traffic authority in good time before work begins.

Under certain conditions, the road traffic authorities can exempt road users from the general traffic regulations of the Road Traffic Regulations and the special traffic regulations of the signs and markings by granting a special permit.

The regulation of moving and stationary traffic is the responsibility of the road traffic authorities. In Bavaria, these are the district municipalities, district administration offices, independent municipalities and large district towns.

A special permit is required for towing via the highway.

In Bavaria, the StMB is responsible for the transportation of dangerous goods. Route regulations in accordance with § 35a Para. 3 Sentence 1 of the Dangerous Goods Ordinance for Road, Rail and Inland Waterways (GGVSEB) are issued by the district administrative authorities.

Certain heavily used sections of highway and federal highways in Germany are closed to trucks with a total weight of over 7.5 t and trucks with trailers (without weight limit) during the day on all Saturdays in July and August due to heavy tourist traffic.

In Germany, trucks with a total mass of over 7.5 tons and trucks with trailers are prohibited from driving on all Sundays and on certain public holidays. Certain types of transport are legally exempt from the ban.
