Have you already contacted your neighbor?
Stand: 16.04.2026
Being there for each other in the district.
The call "Have you contacted your neighbor yet?" on the Ströer billboards reminds us that community begins on a small scale - right on our own doorstep. People who know their neighbors feel safer, less alone and in better hands. Good neighborliness doesn't just happen on its own. It needs a first step.
Local support and meeting places
The Senior Citizens' Advisory Council and its "Neighborhood Work" working group have launched this campaign. It is intended to raise awareness for mutual support in everyday life and show what is possible in the district. Because there are many offers, especially for older people. The city of Erlangen ensures that various organizations are active in several districts and offer concrete help, support and meeting places on site.
Hospice and palliative care
The "Compassionate City of Erlangen and the surrounding area" project of the Association for the Promotion of Palliative Medicine at the University Hospital Erlangen e.V. is also part of this network. The offers:
- Making information on hospice and palliative care easily accessible
- Strengthening solidarity with people who are seriously ill, as well as with the dying, the grieving and their families.
The question "Have you contacted your neighbor yet?" is more than just a friendly suggestion. It is an invitation - to pay attention, to connect and to be together.
