Online Procedures
Request a Change to the Vehicle Owner's Information
With this online application, you can request an update to the owner information on Parts I and II of your vehicle registration certificate.
If your address or name changes, you must apply to update the vehicle owner’s information in your registration documents.
Convenient and digital: Simply fill out this online application directly in your web browser. In many cases, this saves you a trip to the government office.
Changes to the vehicle owner’s information—such as a name change due to marriage or divorce, or a change of address—must be reported to the registration authority immediately.
The vehicle owner is required to report these changes. If the owner is not also the registered owner, the registered owner is also required to do so.
The changes are entered in both Part I of the Registration Certificate (vehicle registration certificate) and Part II of the Registration Certificate (vehicle title).
If only the address changes within the registration district, Registration Certificate Part II does not need to be submitted. In such cases, either a new Part I of the Registration Certificate is issued, or a corresponding sticker is affixed to the existing Part I of the Registration Certificate. No changes are made to Part II of the Registration Certificate.
If you are moving to a new registration district, please refer to the information under “Related Topics” in the section “Motor Vehicle; Applying for Transfer or Re-registration.”
If you purchased your vehicle on credit or leased it, and the lender or lessor has retained the Registration Certificate Part II (vehicle title) as collateral and you are required to present it, contact them so they can release the document to the registration authority for the amendment and to verify your right of disposal.
Before the vehicle registration documents can be updated with your new name or address, you must update your registration with the registration office (Resident Registration Office) that has jurisdiction over you.
You must submit the application to change the information in the Certificate of Registration, Part I, or the vehicle registration certificate in person. You may also authorize a representative with a written power of attorney.
The document will be amended by the responsible registration authority immediately upon submission. You generally do not need to fill out an application form.
The registration authority automatically forwards the change notification to the relevant main customs office.
The registration authorities also offer the option to update owner information online.
