Landscape conservation and nature parks; application for funding
The Bavarian State Ministry for the Environment and Consumer Protection grants subsidies for measures to maintain, preserve and develop protected areas and individual elements of nature that are worthy of protection.

The Bavarian State Ministry for the Environment and Consumer Protection also grants subsidies for measures for nature-friendly recreation inside and outside nature parks.
Measures in accordance with the Landscape Conservation and Nature Park Guidelines (LNPR) serve to
- Conserve and develop nature and the landscape as the basis of human life, the environment and recreational areas,
- secure or re-create habitats for endangered or threatened animal and plant species,
- to achieve the purpose pursued by the protection of areas and individual elements of nature,
- to make the local nature and landscape accessible to the population in a nature-friendly manner and to communicate their ecological value,
- to realize nature conservation and landscape management objectives contained in plans in accordance with Art. 4 of the Bavarian Nature Conservation Act (BayNatSchG),
- to develop, preserve and maintain a state-wide biotope network,
- to contribute to the protection and development of the European ecological network Natura 2000.
Recreational measures serve to maintain and develop nature-compatible recreational uses on the basis of the maintenance and development plans.
Beneficiaries
- Local authorities and their associations,
- Landscape conservation associations as well as associations and organizations dedicated to nature conservation and landscape conservation in accordance with their statutes,
- Owners or holders of the land earmarked for measures, nature park authorities
Applications are submitted to the granting authority via the district administrative authority (lower nature conservation authority).
The granting authority is the local government (higher nature conservation authority).
