Rental Apartment; Applying for Additional Financial Assistance

Purpose

The subsidy is intended to enable residents of housing subsidized under the Income-Based Subsidy Program (EOF) to cover their ongoing rent expenses with their available income for the duration of the occupancy commitment.

Scope

The supplemental subsidy ensures that residents of housing subsidized under the Income-Based Subsidy Program (EOF) are able to cover their ongoing rent expenses with their available income for the duration of the occupancy commitment.

Grant Recipients

Recipients are tenants.

Eligible Costs

Rent costs are covered.

Type and Amount

The assistance is provided as a grant.

The additional subsidy is provided as a grant without a legal entitlement and subject to available budgetary funds. The basis for calculating the additional subsidy is the difference between the maximum permissible rent and the reasonable rent. This amount remains unchanged for the duration of the commitment. The calculation of the monthly additional assistance must be based on the living space determined by the approving authority.

The applicant must live in an apartment that received income-based housing assistance (EOF) and is subject to a social obligation. 

The additional subsidy is based on the total income of the respective household (see Art. 5 BayWoFG) and its classification into income brackets.

Submitting a Written Application 

The application for financial assistance must be submitted to the competent district administrative authority using the currently valid application forms (original income statement—Form Stabau III a—along with an application for additional assistance—Form Stabau I c—and the documents specified therein).

Electronic Application 

If the competent authority provides an online procedure, you may submit the application through that system.

The additional subsidy is granted for 24-month periods beginning on the

lease, but no earlier than the first day of the month in which

application is submitted. It is granted for no longer than the duration of the

occupancy commitment and is generally paid monthly in advance.

There are no set deadlines for this grant.
