Civil protection; additional equipment and training

The federal government supplements civil protection equipment in the areas of fire protection, NBC protection, medical services and support.

The additional equipment is provided by the federal government. The federal states allocate the equipment to the authorities responsible for civil protection. These authorities can pass the equipment on to the organizations responsible for the units and facilities.

The additional equipment provided by the federal government to the federal states for civil protection is also available to the federal states for civil protection tasks.

Helpers in civil protection units and facilities who are intended for use in the above-mentioned areas of responsibility receive additional civil protection training for the performance of these tasks during their training.
