Veterinary medicine cabinet; notification of establishment and operation
The operation of a veterinary in-house pharmacy is subject to the notification obligation pursuant to Section 79 of the Act on the Trade in Veterinary Medicinal Products and the Implementation of Union Legislation on Veterinary Medicinal Products (Veterinary Medicinal Products Act - TAMG)

The address of the business premises must be notified in writing to the competent authority before commencing operations. In Bavaria, the veterinary departments of the district administrative authorities (district administrations, independent cities) are responsible.
Manufacturers and pharmaceutical wholesalers may only supply veterinary medicinal products to veterinarians if they have checked whether their customers are authorized to retail veterinary medicinal products (Art. 101 para. 2 Regulation (EU) 2019/6, Art. 22 para. 1 Implementing Regulation (EU) 2021/1248).
