Care advice from the care insurance funds
The task of long-term care advice provided by the long-term care insurance funds (§ 7a SGB XI) is in particular to
- to record and analyze the individual help and support needs of the person in need of care,
- to draw up a care plan,
- to work towards the necessary measures and the further implementation of the care plan,
- adapt the care plan if necessary,
- provide information on services to relieve the burden on caregivers.
Care support points
The care support centers, which can be set up by the care and health insurance companies together with the districts and independent cities and also the districts,
- provide comprehensive and independent information and advice on the rights and obligations under the German Social Security Code and on the selection and use of social services and other assistance provided for under federal or state law,
- coordinate all health-promoting, preventative, curative, rehabilitative and other medical, nursing and social assistance and support services that are available close to home and provide assistance in accessing these services and
- ensure the networking of coordinated nursing and social care and support services.
Specialist centers for family caregivers
The specialist centers are counseling and contact points for family caregivers of elderly people in need of care and support them with psychosocial counseling, (long-term) support and relief services (work with family members). In addition, many specialist centers offer support for caregiving relatives in everyday life, such as family groups, care groups and volunteer support groups.
Specialist centers for dementia and care
The regional specialist centers for dementia and care set up in all seven administrative districts support the establishment and expansion of advice and support structures as well as their local networking - with the assistance of the supra-regional specialist center for dementia and care in Bavaria. This applies in particular to the topic of "dementia" and the Bavaria-wide recognized offers for support in everyday life, which serve to relieve the burden on those in need of care and caring relatives. Since 01.01.2021, it has also been possible for the services to be provided by individuals subject to certain quality criteria, with the specialist offices responsible for registering individual volunteers.
