Main run and main cross-country ski trail; notification when an obstacle is detected

Municipalities may, by ordinance, designate an area outside of public trails and public spaces—which is available to the general public for skiing, skibobbing, or sledding—as a main run for such sports or as a main cross-country ski trail. The municipalities are responsible for the corresponding signage.

If you intend to place an obstacle on a marked main downhill run or a main cross-country ski trail, you must notify the responsible municipality in a timely manner so that hazards to the safety of skiers, skibob riders, or sledders can be prevented.

Anyone who creates an obstacle without notifying the municipality in a timely manner may be subject to a fine. 

If unreported obstacles—or obstacles prohibited by the municipality—are nevertheless placed in the form of structures or equipment, the independent municipalities and the district offices may order necessary safety measures, repairs, or the removal of such obstacles. In addition, the independent municipalities and district offices may—among other things, in cases of imminent danger or where there is an urgent public interest in immediate enforcement—order the partial or complete removal of the structure or equipment.
