Municipal library; application for a library card
After registering, you will receive a library card or library card. You usually have to pay a fee to use a municipal library.

Once you have registered at a library, you will immediately receive a library card in person or by post. The card enables you to borrow or order books or media and to use any other services. The library card must be presented for each loan.
The validity of the library card is limited in time (e.g. 1 year), so you must apply for an extension if necessary.
Fees may be charged for the use of a municipal library or bookshop (e.g. community library, municipal library, city library or municipal library).
- Submit the application documents to the library.
- Pay the user fee.
- You will then receive your library card immediately on site or by post within a few days.
Loss of ID or changes to personal details must be reported to the library immediately.

The Erlangen City Library is the public library of the city of Erlangen. It is located in the Palais Stutterheim, alongside the Kunstpalais Erlangen.
