Identity card, eID card, or electronic residence permit; applying for a Braille sticker
People with visual impairments can apply to their local municipality or immigration office for a transparent sticker with Braille to be affixed to the back of their identity card, eID card, or electronic residence permit.

Effective September 1, 2021, upon request by the document holder, a transparent Braille sticker bearing the inscription “ad” (identification document) be affixed to the back of the identity card, eID card, or electronic residence permit.
The Braille sticker is intended to make it easier to distinguish an identity card, eID card, or electronic residence permit from other credit card-sized cards, such as those in a wallet.
- Submit an informal application to the appropriate authority (the authorities responsible for issuing identity cards and eID cards—that is, the municipalities where you have your (primary) residence—as well as the immigration authorities for the electronic residence permit)
- Holders of an identity card, an eID card, or an electronic residence permit
The sticker is affixed to the back of the identification document only at the request of the identification document or cardholder.
The Braille sticker can be affixed immediately upon issuance of the identification document or at a later date.
