Specialist for event technology

To train as an event technology specialist, you must meet the following requirements:

• You have at least a qualifying secondary school leaving certificate or have obtained one by the start of the apprenticeship.
• You have already reached the age of 18 at the start of the apprenticeship
• You have successfully completed the recruitment process of the City of Erlangen

In addition, you should have a good technical understanding and manual skills, enjoy organizing, enjoy working in a team and have a certain flexibility in terms of time, as you may also be working at weekends and in the evenings.

Fachkraft für Veranstaltungstechnik ist ein anerkannter Beruf nach dem Berufsbildungsgesetz (BBiG). Die duale Ausbildung bei der Stadt Erlangen dauert 3 Jahre. Sie gliedert sich in eine theoretische Ausbildung an der städtischen Berufsschule für Medienberufe in München und eine praktische Ausbildung im Theater der Stadt Erlangen.

Fachtheoretische Ausbildung

Die theoretische Ausbildung findet im Blockunterricht an der Berufsschule für Medientechnik in München statt. Hier lernen Sie fachspezifische Inhalte wie zum Beispiel das Bauen einer Schaltung.

Neben berufsbezogenen Inhalten haben Sie auch Unterricht in allgemeinbildenden Fächern wie Deutsch aber auch Wirtschafts- und Sozialkunde. Im Laufe Ihrer Ausbildung erwarten Sie unter anderem folgende berufsbezogene Fächer:

• Auf und Abbauen von veranstaltungs- und produktionstechnischen Anlagen und Aufbauten
• Planung von medientechnischen Anlagen
•  Inbetriebnahme und Dokumentation der medientechnischen Anlagen

Berufspraktische Ausbildung

Der praktische Teil Ihrer Ausbildung findet überwiegend im Schauspiel Erlangen statt. Während Ihrer Ausbildung werden Sie an die verschiedenen Aufgabenfelder herangeführt und systematisch mit den Berufsinhalten vertraut gemacht. Hierbei haben Sie die Möglichkeit, in der Berufsschule Gelerntes anzuwenden, zu festigen und zu vertiefen. Sie lernen beispielsweise in der Berufsschule wie Sie eine Traverse sicher auf- und abbauen. Dieses Wissen können Sie direkt in der Praxis anwenden und dort festigen.

Während Ihrer praktischen Ausbildung werden Sie von kompetenten Ausbilder*innen betreut, die Ihnen einen Einblick in die verschiedenen Aufgaben und den Alltag als Fachkraft für Veranstaltungstechnik ermöglichen und Ihnen nach und nach auch die Gelegenheit geben, diese Aufgaben eigenständig zu übernehmen.

 Eine gesunde Feedback-Kultur wird bei der Stadt Erlangen großgeschrieben: Sie erhalten Rückmeldung über Stärken und Schwächen, damit Sie immer wissen, wie Sie sich aktiv weiterentwickeln können, um Ihre Fähigkeiten ausbauen und erweitern zu können.

During your training, you will receive a monthly training allowance (gross)

• in the 1st year in the amount of € 1,218.26
• in the 2nd year in the amount of € 1,268.20
• in the 3rd year in the amount of € 1,314.02

As a trainee of the City of Erlangen, you are also entitled to capital-forming benefits of €13.29 per month and a special annual payment ("Christmas bonus").

After successfully completing your final examination, you can also expect a final bonus of €400.

The training allowance is based on the collective agreement for trainees in the public sector (TVAöD).

After training, remuneration is based on the collective agreement for the public sector (TVöD). The classification and thus also the remuneration are based on the job that is taken on. The performance principle applies. The law therefore stipulates certain classification criteria. If an employee holds a position and fulfills all job characteristics, the classification is made according to the previously determined job evaluation.

The starting salary in pay group EG 6, level 1, is currently € 3,042.04 (gross).

In addition, you will also receive capital-forming benefits of € 6.65 per month and a special payment ("Christmas bonus"). You can also expect regular salary increases and performance-related steps.

As part of the training, all fees are paid by the City of Erlangen. Training materials required for vocational training and for taking the exam (e.g. work and protective clothing, textbooks or exam preparation booklets) are also provided free of charge. In addition, you will receive a grant of €50 for learning materials in each year of training.

A company laptop is also provided for use during the training period.

Travel costs for journeys to external vocational schools will be reimbursed if they exceed 6 percent of the training allowance, unless there is no other entitlement to compensation. If accommodation in a hall of residence is also necessary, the costs incurred will also be reimbursed by the City of Erlangen.

In the case of inter-company training courses and events that take place outside the company, you will also be reimbursed for travel expenses. If an overnight stay at the event location is required, the City of Erlangen will also cover the costs for accommodation and meals.

All the social benefits that the city administration of Erlangen offers its employees naturally also apply to our junior staff.

Anyone who regularly travels to work by public transport receives a monthly travel allowance from the City of Erlangen. During their training, junior employees can purchase the Bavarian discount ticket (€38 ticket). The costs incurred for this are subsidized by the city of Erlangen to the amount of € 32 upon application. However, it is also possible (depending on availability) to apply for a municipal employee parking space.

As part of the company's health management program, there are regular sports courses and other health-promoting activities that you can take part in.

The number of trainees is based on the anticipated personnel requirements. The City of Erlangen offers a guarantee of employment to high-performing junior staff.

As part of your training, you will be prepared for your future work at Schauspiel Erlangen. Once you have been taken on, you will carry out your professional activities in the various venues of Schauspiel Erlangen as well as in the associated theaters. Depending on your specialization, you will work in the areas of lighting, video, sound or stage. Basically, every workplace in the various venues, but also in the theaters, has the same technical equipment, which includes a lighting and a sound computer. Your work ensures the smooth technical running of events at Schauspiel Erlangen.

Die Ausbildung stellt den ersten Schritt einer kontinuierlichen Personalentwicklung dar. Zur weiteren beruflichen Qualifizierung wird ein vielseitiges und qualitativ hochwertiges Fortbildungsprogramm angeboten. Ziel dieser Qualifikationen ist es, Ihr Wissen aktuell zu halten, so dass Sie Ihre Aufgaben zielorientiert und erfolgreich wahrnehmen sowie Ihre persönliche Handlungskompetenz erweitern können. Als Facharbeiter*in haben Sie Zugang zu berufsspezifischen Weiterbildungen und können zusätzliche Kompetenzen erwerben. Es ist beispielsweise möglich im Bereich Beleuchtung eine Fortbildung für das Lichtpult sowie im Bereich Video eine Fortbildung für das Videoserversystem zu besuchen.

Den Mitarbeiter*innen stehen umfangreiche berufliche Entwicklungs- und Aufstiegsmöglichkeiten offen. Mittelfristig haben Sie bedarfsorientiert die Möglichkeit, sich zum*zur Veranstaltungsmeister*in fortzubilden.
