Mandatory Driver's License Renewal

This means that by 2033, every driver’s license issued before January 19, 2013, must be exchanged for the new EU driver’s license. This will happen in phases.

The next deadline:

For driver’s licenses issued on or after January 1, 1999, the year of issuance applies. The next deadline applies to licenses issued between 2002 and 2004: the exchange must be completed by January 19, 2027. You can schedule an appointment for the exchange— you can do so online here.
