For diversity, respect and tolerance
Stand: 28.05.2025
Various stakeholders came together at a diversity conference. Workshops were held to work on issues relating to the "Erlangen Declaration for Diversity, Respect and Tolerance".
The city of Erlangen hosted a diversity conference in the town hall on May 23. After a welcoming address by Lord Mayor Florian Janik, the focus was on the "Erlangen Declaration for Diversity, Respect and Tolerance". The declaration can be signed from the fall. It is intended to network the diverse organizations in Erlangen under the umbrella of anti-discrimination.
Kick-off in March
The conference built on the results of a kick-off meeting in March. More than 40 organizations came together to discuss the idea of the declaration. A concept was then drawn up together. Since then, an editorial group made up of local companies and organizations has been working on the text of the declaration. Building on these results, the participants of the diversity conference have now continued the process. Three different workshops were held to work on issues relating to the declaration and the network. The city of Mannheim has already implemented a similar declaration for diversity, respect and tolerance.
