- Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
- Wednesday and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
You can check the current wait time here. However, if you’d like to avoid wait times, you can also schedule an appointment. This can be done online via the appointment portal at https://erlangen.flexappoint.de/#/. From Thursday, December 24, through the end of the year, these offices will be closed.
Required Documents
A current biometric passport photo can be taken directly at the Citizens’ Service Office (City Hall foyer) at the “Speedcapture terminal” or at certified photo service providers (e.g., photographers or drugstores). You must also bring your current identification documents. In addition, the Citizens’ Office requires a current civil status certificate (birth certificate, marriage certificate, divorce decree)—particularly to verify your name—provided that
- no passport or ID document has yet been applied for with the City of Erlangen, or
- your civil status has changed since your last application.
