Statistics; Tour of the Community

To carry out their duties within the scope of their responsibilities and authority, municipalities may compile statistics if specific data or results are neither provided by the Bavarian State Office for Statistics nor by other public agencies, nor can they be otherwise determined, and if the municipalities have established their own statistical offices.

Statistical surveys for the performance of self-governing duties (within the municipality’s own sphere of activity) must generally be mandated by municipal statutes. Statistical surveys for the performance of delegated duties (within the delegated sphere of activity) generally require a mandate by law or state regulation.
