The Neighborhood Advisory Board

In Erlangen, each neighborhood has its own advisory board. The Downtown Neighborhood Advisory Board represents your interests in the neighborhood within the city administration’s governing bodies. It can make recommendations and submit motions on all issues affecting the neighborhood. In this way, it contributes to the formation of political will in city policy. The City Council, the relevant committee, or the city administration’s departments must address the recommendations and motions within three months.

In the coming years, the “Axis of Science” will take shape in downtown Erlangen along Fahrstraße and Sieboldstraße, between the Kollegienhaus and the “Himbeerpalast.” Various new educational institutions, residential units, and commercial spaces will be built there.

News from the Neighborhood

Shoe Street

From Monday, August 10, through Friday, August 14, access from Schuhstraße to Werner-von-Siemens-Straße in the direction of Hochstraße will be closed. This is due to a road collapse at the intersection of Werner-von-Siemens-Straße and Schuhstraße. Access from Werner-von-Siemens-Straße in the northbound direction remains possible.

Waldstraße will be closed in sections from Monday, August 17, through the end of November. Access to the university hospitals will remain available, and a detour via Schuhstraße and Friedrichstraße will be signposted.

Bayreuther Street

There will be partial closures on Bayreuther Straße through the end of August. The reason: work is being done on the telecommunications lines between Pfarrstraße and Haagstraße. In some sections, one side of the street will be closed. Traffic is being controlled by construction zone traffic lights.
