Mobility Forum - Local transport plan

Stand: 28.05.2024

A local transport plan defines fields of action and objectives in the area of local public transport. The Mobility Forum is actively involved in updating it.

A local transport plan is a planning instrument in which fields of action and objectives in the area of local public transport are defined. Local authorities are required by law to draw up a local transport plan and update it at regular intervals.

A local transport plan includes, among other things, plans for...

  • Route network and frequencies
  • Connection points to other forms of mobility
  • Fares and ticket purchase
  • Digitalization and passenger information services
  • Accessibility at stations and stops
  • Inter-municipal cooperation
  • Requirements for vehicles
  • Quality control requirements
  • and other topics relating to public transport.

The Local Transport Plan 2016 - 2021 (NVP) for the city of Erlangen was developed as part of the Transport Development Plan 2030 (VEP 2030). This process was accompanied by a separate committee (NVP working group). The concepts developed at that time as part of the VEP were used as the basis for the period 2016 - 2021. The update of the NVP for another five years until 2027 is currently being worked on.

The Mobility Forum is involved in the preparation of this update. Current developments and concept proposals from the experts will be presented and discussed at the first meeting for the update at the end of 2021 and in the planned further meetings.
