If your municipality has provided for this in its drainage regulations, properties that are connected to a public drainage system must generally also be connected to this system and use it. Technically, a so-called property connection must be laid, i.e. a pipe from the public sewer to the inspection chamber (usually located at the property boundary). Via this property connection, you in turn connect the areas and buildings on the property that require wastewater disposal to the public drainage system.
Whether the municipality or the property owner is responsible for the construction, renewal, modification and maintenance of the property connection varies from municipality to municipality. Please contact your local authority for more information. They will also be able to provide you with information on the technical requirements for the connection of your property and the costs you will incur for the installation of such a property connection.

The rights and obligations of property owners regarding the connection of properties to the public drainage system of the city of Erlangen are regulated by the drainage statutes (EWS).
The EWS also contains the specifications for property drainage and the procedure for creating the associated systems. You can find out more about this from the Building Supervisory Office, Land Drainage Department, on + (49) 09131 / 86 - 1041.
For the technical connection - the "sewer tapping" - please use the appropriate form to collect the necessary data.
The tapping of the public sewer must be applied for in good time, preferably together with the excavation permit (special use of public traffic space) at the Office for Urban Planning and Mobility, Road Traffic and Construction Sites Department, Tel. + (49) 09131 / 86 - 1653 or + (49) 09131 / 86 - 2481.
The tapping of the public sewer itself is carried out by the drainage company of the city of Erlangen - sewer maintenance.

In accordance with § 1 Para. 3 EWS, the property connections are not part of the public drainage system of the City of Erlangen. They remain the responsibility of the property owners.

The city of Erlangen is not responsible for matters relating to parking tickets.
