Digital Cemetery Map of Erlangen
The digital cemetery map for municipal cemeteries is now available. You can use the search function to find specific graves by name or grave number. The exact location of the grave is displayed. You can use GPS to get direct directions to the grave you’re looking for. Information on available gravesites is also provided.
As part of their right to local self-government, municipalities may stipulate in their cemetery regulations that a permit is required for the erection of gravestones. There is no legal obligation to do so. This allows a municipality to review its existing requirements for the design of gravestones prior to their installation, particularly to ensure stability and respect for the deceased.
