Registration for the Active Card
With this online application, clubs that volunteer for Erlangen can obtain an Aktiv-Card. The Active Card is also available as a digital version (app). This makes it easy to show the Aktiv-Card on your smartphone. You can register for the Aktiv-Card app here. Internet connection is required.

The Bavarian Volunteer Card is a visible sign of recognition for special civic commitment. It expresses appreciation for your daily commitment to voluntary work, which should be particularly recognized and rewarded. For example through
- attractive discounts from major brands and manufacturers
- Free admission to public institutions such as museums, castles, palaces and lake cruises on the Tegernsee, Ammersee, Königssee and Starnberger See,
- Discounts when visiting cultural and leisure facilities such as theaters and amusement parks,
- Discounts and rebates at municipal facilities and private providers, such as swimming pools, pharmacies, hairdressers and restaurants,
- national prize draws for participation in exclusive events
The Bavarian Volunteer Card can be used with all Bavarian acceptance partners beyond your own district or city limits.
The blue volunteer card is valid for 3 years from the date of issue, the expiration date is printed on the card. The gold volunteer card is valid indefinitely. Both variants are only valid in conjunction with an official ID (passport, identity card, driving license).

Since September 1, 2023, the Bavarian Volunteer Card in Erlangen can also be applied for digitally and presented on an app. Holders of the volunteer card can apply in addition to the credit card-sized card. It offers numerous discounts and access to many attractions throughout Bavaria. You can find the app in the AppStore or in the Google Play Store under "Ehrenamtskarte Bayern".
Active Card further offer
In Erlangen, the Bavarian Volunteer Card complements the Active Card, which has been well used for 20 years. It is available to volunteer organizations in varying numbers - depending on the size of the volunteer team. It has also been available in app form for two years. Both cards and their digital version are intended to be a visible sign of appreciation for the many hours of voluntary work that ensure a unifying community in Erlangen's urban society.
- The district or independent city in which you live has introduced the volunteer card.
- The blue volunteer card is valid for three years. You will receive it if you are at least 16 years old and meet one of the following requirements:
- current voluntary work for at least two years, either an average of five hours per week or 250 hours per year
- Possession of a valid youth leader card (Juleica)
- current voluntary service (FSJ, FÖJ, BFD)
- Active service in the volunteer fire department (with completed squad training or with at least completed basic module of the modular squad training (MTA))
- currently working as a volunteer in disaster control or rescue services with completed basic training
- regularly perform active military service in the Bundeswehr as a reservist, either by having performed a total of at least 40 days of reserve service in the past two calendar years or by having been a permanent member of a district or district liaison command in the past two calendar years.
- You will receive the golden volunteer card, which is valid indefinitely, if you fulfill one of these requirements:
- volunteering for at least 25 years, either an average of five hours per week or 250 hours per year
- Holder of the Prime Minister's Medal of Honor
- Fire department, rescue service or deployment in other civil protection units with a length of service award in accordance with the Fire Service and Relief Organizations Decoration of Honour Act (FwHOEzG)
- regularly perform active military service in the Bundeswehr as a reservist by either having performed at least 500 days of reservist service in total for at least 25 years or by having been a permanent member of a district or district liaison command during this time.
The following applies to both variants: The expense allowances granted for the commitment may usually not exceed the annual allowance (€840
honorary allowance or € 3,000 exercise leader allowance).

If you want to use the Active Card app and the Active Card is already available for discounts in your organization, you can ask us whether the limited licenses for the app have already been allocated for this year.
The volunteer card is issued on application. You can apply for it at the district administration office or the independent city of your place of residence. The district or independent city must have introduced the volunteer card.
At the end of its period of validity, the volunteer card must be applied for again; it is not automatically renewed.
Counties and independent cities that wish to introduce the volunteer card should contact the Bavarian Center for Family and Social Affairs.

You can choose whether you want to show it on your smartphone. You can also still be sent a card in credit card format.
