Severe Weather: Over 200 Calls for Assistance — Several Areas Still Closed
A severe thunderstorm with gusty winds swept through Erlangen and the surrounding region early Tuesday evening. In the city limits alone, the fire department was called out more than 200 times. The heaviest activity was in the southern part of the city, including the neighborhoods of Frauenaurach, Bruck, Eltersdorf, and Tennenlohe. Cleanup efforts are ongoing.
Büchenbacher Damm
From Wednesday, July 15, through Thursday, July 23, the number of lanes on Büchenbacher Damm—at the western on- and off-ramps of the A73 highway—will be reduced. A portable traffic light system has been set up to regulate traffic.
Wichernstraße
From Monday, July 20, until approximately the end of June 2027, the area immediately west of Hertleinstraße will be completely closed. This is due to a construction access road and several construction site facilities.
