The emergency box is a small container with an information sheet that provides information about the owner's state of health, medication or intolerances in an emergency. The emergency services recommend keeping the emergency box in the fridge, as it is easy for the emergency services to find. A sticker is placed on the front door and on the fridge to make the paramedics aware of this.
The emergency box is available for €1 from the Department for Ageing and Generational Issues of the City of Erlangen (Nägelsbachstraße 38, first floor, room 37, telephone: 09131 86-3055).
The Department for Ageing and Generational Issues has created an "Everything at hand" emergency folder in which documents can be stored in an organized manner. In the event of an emergency or crisis situation, you have all the data you need at your fingertips. An index divides the folder clearly into different subject areas.
You can obtain the emergency folder for a nominal fee of €2.00 from the Department for Ageing and Generational Issues of the City of Erlangen (Nägelsbachstraße 38, first floor, room 37, telephone: 09131 86-3055).

With demographic change, the living conditions and circumstances of older people are also changing. In order to actively counter the effects of demographic change, all Bavarian municipalities are obliged to develop integrative regional senior citizens' policy concepts.
The City of Erlangen's senior citizens' policy concept "Rethinking ageing - ensuring participation" forms the planning framework for creating tailor-made support structures. The focus here is on a socio-spatial or neighborhood-oriented strategy. The aim is to develop framework conditions to enable (individual) participation and opportunities for realization for older people.
The senior citizens' policy concept is continuously developed and adapted. For more information, please call 09131 86 2190 or send an e-mail to seniorenkonzept@stadt.erlangen.de
To ensure that you can live independently in your own home into old age, it is advisable to adapt your home. If you have a care degree, there are grants available from the care insurance fund.
