Yes, there is a free educational series for clubs and volunteers.
Volunteer qualification - Together with the adult education centers of the district and the volunteer office of the district of Erlangen-Höchstadt and Herzogenaurach, we are organizing a free educational series for clubs and volunteers. In Erlangen, young people have many opportunities to get involved in politics. There are numerous associations and initiatives that also carry out political work. There is the youth parliament, where young people can contribute their ideas and wishes directly to city politics and have already achieved a great deal. There are also movements such as Fridays for Future, which are made up of many young people. As you can see, there are many opportunities - you are sure to find something that suits you.

Data protection
A new EU General Data Protection Regulation came into force on May 25, 2018. It also applies to associations and regulates all forms of automated processing of personal data, such as the correct way to obtain consent for its storage. The General Data Protection Regulation not only regulates data processing within your own association, but also the transfer of data for the purpose of order processing, e.g. to payroll and tax consultancy offices.

The Landesnetzwerk Bürgerschaftliches Engagement is a nationwide service center for questions relating to volunteering. The volunteer lexicon offers a comprehensive collection of legal issues, which is constantly being expanded and updated.

Voluntary work must be insured - especially for those who dedicate their time to it. For this reason, the legislator has continuously improved accident protection for volunteers in recent years. The brochure "For your safety - accident insurance for voluntary work" from the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs outlines the entire spectrum of statutory accident insurance.

Once a year, there is a big celebration for volunteers. On Volunteer Day, 5 December, representatives of associations/projects and organizations are invited to the Markgrafentheater. There, three associations or groups will also be presented with the Volunteer Award by the Lord Mayor. This is donated by the Stadt- und Kreisparkasse Erlangen Höchstadt Herzogenaurach. Voluntary groups can apply for the Active Card, regardless of how long the group has been active. The Active Card is now also available in an app version. On the west bank of the Dechsendorfer Weiher, an attractive, contemporary and safe play and recreation area for children and families is being created on an area of around 400 square meters.
The construction of a new district center with a district library in the Büchenbach-West district will create a socio-cultural center and an innovative, versatile, open and creative meeting place in the west of the city.
The city museum in the heart of the old town presents the history of the Erlangen region from early times to the modern university city. Following the completion of KuBiC, the city council has decided to focus on expanding the city museum.
The playground on Habichtstraße in Alterlangen is to be completely renovated and redesigned. New play equipment and a landscaping redesign are intended to make it an attractive place for children and families to play and spend time.
